Gimbal, irises, hums and purrs

Lying on the snow and playing with their arms and feet marks the moment when a human being is closest to being like an angel. (原來在雪地躺著撥弄手腳,就是人最接近如天使之時刻。)

I’m tiptoeing around my internal urges to scream and keeping to pull myself back a little away from the edges. Also teaching myself to hum the screams, let them land softly before their burst. Focus. Don’t be out of one. Stabilise the slightest trembles, perform and imagine yourself as a gimbal, say a gimbal of a desk globe. The globe spins in a manner that you ought not to. Whisper, lower the pitches. Hold it dearly when you cannot. Hang in there when you know that you can no longer. Recite these hypnotically and shrink your pupils when they’re dilated, let the irises do their work. Pupils and irises cancel out each other, but in a manner of speaking, in a complementary relationship. Let less light go into your eyes, especially when you’re overly sensitive towards it. Let irises help, and by irises I refer to both the botanical species and the unique hue around your natural aperture. In floriography the species tends to symbolise faith and valour. Yes please, be imbued with valour.
